Anyway my point is, reality has hit me hard leaving me a migraine of a few weeks left to the plan the Big Day. I have only a couple parts planned for the wedding leaving me heaps to do. Are you surprised? Me too! We have the Church booked and paid for in full at The Basillica of St. Mary's. I'm so happy to have the best photographer in town Bernadette Pollard of Dettesnaps. She is not only a close friend but is crazy talented. The wedding Party is on the larger size of 15 but very necessary to have our closest friends and family by our side. The wedding dress was just purchased yesterday, yay!!! It was hundreds out of my budget but seeing my reflection in this couture wedding gown, (oh yes I said couture) the tears just started rolling. In that moment reality hit me, I am getting married!!! It all became so real, so emotional, it felt right, and most important I felt beautiful. So without hesitation I bought it leaving me the job of finding alterations. Now the famous cake will be made by my dear friend and co-actor Doug Anderson. He is seriously the male version of Martha Stewart. The reception venue I'm hoping will be at Chamber's. We are currently in the process of securing it possibly as early as Monday. So what's left, too much, check out the long list below. I would love to get your help so please feel free to share with me any suggestions or ideas you have. Keeping in mind I'm working on a very tight budget. I'm planning on DIY much of the rest to stay in the budget. With all of the creative shortcuts out there I'm hoping it will look stunning and not cheap.
So here are my thoughs on the wedding colors. The colors will be a rainbow of blues, such as Robin's egg, Navy, Teal, Baby, etc... Blue IS one of my favorite colors but the true inspiration for choosing that color is my engagement ring. The center carries a crystal clear Aqua Marine stone light blue with a slight hint of teal, just like the ocean. So the long and heavy list of stuff yet to be done is below. I am sharing my thoughts, but not married to these ideas while trying to save on the dollar.
Alright! I am ready to get this wedding in order and planned. And hopefully with your help. I will remind myself to lower my expectations and focus on celebrating the new beginning with my dear friends and family!
So here are my thoughs on the wedding colors. The Wedding will take place on a Friday evening, in Minneapolis late September.
My wedding to do list:
*Tuxes - Yea leaving that one up to my fiance
*Flowers - None, the Basillica forbids it
*Bridesmaid dresses/shoes - They will be wearing floor length black dresses of their choice, paired with solid blue heels, if we find multiple shades of blue that would be neat
*Honeymoon - Thinking St. Maarten's in January
*Menu - Tasting needs to be scheduled
*Transportation
*Hair and Make-up - Will do myself with practice
*Party Favors
*Wedding music, readings and readers
*Reception music - Personal I-pod and good speakers
*Invitations - Ideas below
*Bridal shoes - Check out my Ideas on Pinterest
What else is there?
I will be updating this list periodically. Checking those that are completed and adding the elements I missed. Which I'm sure are plenty
This is the style of invitation I am seeking to DIY. With print in blue or possibly multiple blue shades.
